We took our dog to the beach for the first time today, visions of doggie surf contests dancing in our heads. We snuck down to the water, because this beach isn’t technically designated a dog beach (at all). But, on we marched, undeterred by THE MAN and his canine discrimination.

We got down to the water and set our dog free on the sand. He looked totally uninterested in everything but the hot poodle next to us, trespassing with her own naughty parents.

So, we walked back to the car. Had we had dreamed too big, aimed too high? Should we have started with a lake, or a puddle, or maybe a different dog?
